Distinguishing Features: Semper Fi on his right arm. Several scars, knives, bullets, a few other things, on his body.

Personality: Jon is just a normal guy. He can be very quiet or very talkative, rude, mean or happy, just simply depending on his mood. He does though, have a tendency to speak his mind, even to his superiours, which some believe is he reason he was sent as far away as possible from his commander.

Personal Quirks: Works out as often as possible, doing his martial arts. Takes a part and cleans his gun all the time and is working on not being so critical of people. Doesn't smoke, occasionally drinks and has a constant supply of pain pads on hand for his knee. So he won't have to take pain meds, that to him make him feel really out there.

He'll only do the pain pills if he's pushed to hard that day and the pads aren't working. He's got a month supply of Vicadins that have lasted 6.

History:John's life started out rough, his mother...who had cancer at the time...died in childbirth. His father took him and his twin sister home, he was very saddened by his wife's death, but it was what they agreed on. She found out she was pregnant with their only children, about the same time she found out she had cancer. She opted to not take the kemo drugs, and have the children instead.

So John and Samantha were taken home by their father to raise. Despite his pain, James feel easily into his role as father. Maybe it was because he'd agreed with his wife's wishes ahead of time or because he really wanted his children or whatever the reason, he took wonderfully at being a father.

He raised them by himself for the first 4 years of their lives, till he meet another woman and got married. Rachel was a wonderful woman and because of a childhood illness, she could never have kids of her own, so John and Samantha became her children to her.. Rachel and James were married by the time John was 5 and they lived happily till John was 9 and tragedy struck again.

His parents were archeologists and were both killed at a dig, when the walls collapsed. John and Samantha were trapped as well, but since both were very bright students, they knew what to do to keep themselves alive till help got there.

They had enough air to breath, so that was a problem. But after days of having no food and water, they were very weak by the time help arrived. They were transported to a hospital, where upon there John closed off and was just angry. Where Samantha seemed to do nothing but cry. John also wouldn't let anyone near her, it was really hard on the staff and the kids.

They were then sent to live with their uncle, who was in the Marines. He was the only living relative willing to take the kids. John and Samantha didn't adjust well at first. Samantha still cried and John was still angry. It took their uncle Walter, a while to get through to them. He got through to Sam, but getting her into her parents career of archeology. Where John he used his anger for teaching him martial arts and how to defend himself.

The kids seemed to adjust ok after that and even seemed to pick back up into being A+ students again. But upon graduation John and Samantha were finally seperated, but only because both were to stubborn to give. Samantha followed in their parent's footsteps of being an archeologist, something John feared would end up getting her killed as well. But John didn't exactly pick a desk job. He followed in his uncle's career and joined the marines. They haven't really spoken since, except for the yearly birthday card to each other.

John's career in the marines advanced well. He was soon in the special forces of it and despite his tendancy to say what's on his mind, he advanced quickly. Shortly after making the rank of Captain, he was informed he was being sent to the Mars colony as the new Chief of Security. Mars after their accident, need a harder hand at security and maybe more of a military presence. That part remains to be seen. And he was to also be part of the unknown Beta site.
